Milad-un-Nabi marks the anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him and his family). To commemorate this anniversary, The Ismaili Centre, London hosts an annual lecture on a particular aspect of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet.

Sayed Ali Abbas Razawi delivered the 2013 Milad-un-Nabi lecture on “The Spirit of Pluralism in the example of the Holy Prophet”. The talk highlighted the spirit of pluralism within and beyond the Muslim community and how it is reflected in the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and their relevance to contemporary times.

Sayed Ali Abbas Razawi is an international speaker and teacher. He has a BA in History, an MA in Comparative Philosophy, GDL in Law and has studied Islamic sciences in theological seminaries. Sayed Ali uses his background in ethics, theology and spirituality as a tool in breaking social barriers, creating awareness and healing communities, spending much of his time working with inter-faith groups, educational institutions and charity organisations. He has also written on the need for dialogue and the concept of religion in Christianity and Islam, and has taught subjects such as Islamic Theology, Principles of Jurisprudence, Islamic History and Comparative Mysticism. Sayed Ali is Joint Secretary of the Majlis-e-Ulama, which is the Ulama Council in Europe that represents the majority twelver-Shia Muslims in the United Kingdom and Europe.
