Commemorating 400 years of Shakespeare, Dr Farouk Topan, a well-known poet of Swahili literature spoke on the topic Shakespeare in Swahili literature on Friday, 16 September 2016.

Following the talk, Bards Without Borders, a group of poets from diverse backgrounds with the aim of exploring the links between Shakespeare and migration read their own poems inspired by William Shakespeare. The evening concluded with music sung by an a capella group, based on the texts of Shakespeare.
