The Ismaili Centre, Dubai was honoured to welcome Monsignor Khaled B. Akasheh, Bureau Chief for Islam at the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Vatican City, for a visit.
The visit took place in the wider context of dialogue and strengthening of relations with the Holy See, and was coordinated by Nazim Ahmad, Diplomatic Representative of the Ismaili Imamat to Portugal and the Dubai Expo City 2020 Management.
Monsignor Khaled Akasheh and his entourage were received at the Centre by Aziz Merchant, President of the Ismaili Community in the UAE and other community representatives.
Monsignor Khaled expressed gratitude at having been able to visit the Ismaili Centre, Dubai after also having visited the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon. He praised the UAE Rulers for enabling a pluralistic environment that welcomed various faith communities to co-exist in harmony and peace. Monsignor Khaled also updated the community leadership on the various initiatives taking place between the Ismaili Imamat and the Vatican.
