This initial interest has evolved into a full-fledged desire to create vibrant and colourful calligraphy using mixed media. These pieces express and reflect the emotions of one’s
soul, which Fahim believes has a positive impact on our community. “My intention with art is to create mediums that express emotions, connect the bridge between East and West, and also redefine modern Islamic calligraphy, while keeping its core value,” explains Fahim, a visual artist from Houston, USA. He hopes that the Jubilee Arts events will eventually lead to shaping more opportunities for artists within the global Jamat that will allow them connect and collaborate with each other: “having an artist community is important because it brings artists together and gives us an opportunity to work together and get inspiration from one another.”
