Eid-al-Adha honors one of the greatest trials of faith in the life of Abraham when he was willing to sacrifice his son for God. For Muslims today, this holiday renews the importance of making sacrifices in one’s daily lives; such as those of one's time, energy and resources for the benefit others.

Eid-al-Adha honors one of the greatest trials of faith in the life of Abraham when he was willing to sacrifice his son for God. For Muslims today, this holiday renews the importance of making sacrifices in one’s daily lives; such as those of one's time, energy and resources for the benefit others.
 
As both Eid-al-Adha and the 15th anniversary of September 11, 2001, came together in 2016, the Ismaili community in the Dallas-Fort Worth engaged in a service activity to commemorate both occasions. 
 
I-CERV volunteers joined Compassionate DFW to package 65,000 meals for hungry families. Meals were distributed to local communities primarily, with some to be sent  to help Syrian refugees, through the Feeding Children Everywhere organization.
