When and where is the residential programme taking place?
This year, the Al-Ummah Europe residential will take place from the 27th of July to the 7th of August and will be based at a custom-built Outward Bound Activity Centre in Schwangau, Germany, near Munich.
How much will the programme cost?
The contribution suggested for the programme is £375. Various types of financial assistance are available on a case-by-case basis, including making a contribution in smaller instalments over time. If you would like further information about financial assistance offered by Al-Ummah Europe, please do not hesitate to contact the Board Members responsible for Al-Ummah Europe, Faraan Mithani (07931 151 194) or Zahra Nanji (07747 792 028).
Who can attend?
Al-Ummah Europe is open to all youth in the European Jamat aged between 15 and 18. Due to constraints on the number of places available, we will give priority to those youth who have not attended Al-Ummah/Pathways in the past. If you are a young person interested in attending but living outside of Europe, we may also be able to accommodate you so please get in touch using the contact details below.
How can I find out more information and apply?
If you would like more information, please email us at [email protected]. We will also be circulating information in the Information Leaflet and on Electronic Notice boards around Europe.
To apply, please click here.
When is the deadline for submitting applications?
Participant applications are now open. A closing date will be communicated in due course.
Facilitator applications close on 1st March 2015.
What if I won’t know anybody else going?
We encourage everyone to apply, even if you do not know any other participants who are applying. One of the over-arching objectives of Al-Ummah Europe is for the youth to meet new people and engage with each other from across Europe and the world, and whom they may not otherwise have ever met. The programme, the Outward Bound environment and the Al-Ummah family enable the young people who participate to build lifelong friendships amongst a group of like-minded yet diverse individuals.
