Ismaili CIVIC and Henderson-Dawson Green Action for Communities launched a successful neighborhood composting drive, collecting over 152 kg of organic waste from 60 households to promote sustainable living and community engagement as part of Singapore's #GoGreenSG initiative.

SINGAPORE - On June 15, 2024, Ismaili CIVIC and Henderson-Dawson Green Action for Communities (HDGAC) launched a neighbourhood-wide composting drive, a hands-on initiative designed to reduce household kitchen waste and promote sustainable living practices. With the help of key partners such as City Sprouts, Eco Sami, and Tanjong Pagar Town Council, volunteers collected over 152 kg of organic waste from 60 households and local businesses. The waste was later transformed into valuable compost, which was distributed to local gardeners. This effort not only reduced waste but also fostered community connections, with residents working together to make their neighbourhood more sustainable.

As part of the larger #GoGreenSG and #SayYesToWasteLess campaigns, Ismaili CIVIC collaborated with various partners to catalyse change within the community. These initiatives align with Singapore’s goal of building a climate-resilient nation by encouraging everyday actions that promote zero waste and environmental stewardship.
